Vessel Traffic Management Systems(VTMS)

Overview

Many different types of vessels operate within a coverage area. This includes vessels that are participating with the assets as well as other non-participating vessels. Participating vessels may include Tankers, Barges, Supply Vessels, etc. Non-participating vessels include Ferries, Large and Small Fishing Vessels, Leisure craft, etc. It is probable that some of the non-participating vessels may also be hostile.

Saga Telecom provides a system with sensors and data processing to compile real time situation display of all traffic within the sensor coverage area. Within the system, this real time situation display is known as the Traffic Display. The sensor configuration, comprising Radar and Vessel Identification, enables the system to detect all vessel activity within the coverage area and to automatically identify those vessels.

Long Range Acoustic Device(LRAD)

Overview

One of the non-lethal weapons used by any enforcement agency is an acoustic device. Saga Telecom offers a Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) solution for this kind of non-lethal weapons. LRAD can be implemented as remote-operated stand-alone system or integrated with any Coastal Surveillance Systems (CSS), Land Border Protections, Port Security, Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), anti-riots and Offshore Surveillance Radar Systems. With the range up to 3 km, LRAD can be controlled remotely across an IP network enabling system operators to respond to potential threats from a safe environment while creating a complete unmanned perimeter security solution.Featuring a rugged carbon fiber emitter head integrated with electronics and amplification, this all- weather LRAD comes standard with an MP3 Control Module for playing recorded messages and an all- weather microphone for live broadcasts.

Superior voice intelligibility and an extended frequency range ensure broadcasts are clearly heard and understood over wind, engine and background noise.

Featuring an integrated camera, high-intensity searchlight (optional) and robust, IP-address- able full pan and tilt drive for precise aiming and tracking, the LRAD-RX can also be integrated with radar to provide automated intruder alerts. Because of its automated capabilities, the LRAD-RX reduces manpower and false alarms while providing a highly effective, cost efficient remote first responder security solution.

Radar Surveillance Systems

Overview

Radar surveillance system is the main component as an early warning sensor in the Coastal and Offshore Surveillance System. Countries with long coastal line like Malaysia requires an advanced radar technologies for monitoring and detecting any object or vessel movements to safe guard and protect Malaysia water, fishery and any high value offshore assets such oil rig platforms from the risk of terrorist attacks, illegal activities, vessel collisions and the associated consequences of such events.

The potential of our solutions in detecting the smallest (vessel) target size (size 1) as defined in IALA (which represent the Radar Cross Sectional area RCS typically of 1 m2) and with full 360 degree horizontal coverage and exceptional vertical beam width.

X Band Radar Antenna system gives exceptional to resolution performance degradation under heavy rain conditions and sea clutters. Data from Radar System will be extracted and displayed using the monitoring detection system or Vessel Tracking Management System (VTMS) with the inputs from other sensors such as Automatic Identification Systems (AIS) to validate any vessel or object at sea.

Long Range Cameras

Overview

For special mission such as coastal and border surveillance or critical infrastructure protection, a security camera with long range capability during day and night operation is required. We offer the Long Range Optical Camera ARGC NIGHT VISION CAMERA with unique Range-Gated Active Imaging Technology for night surveillance and two colour sensors (Narrow Field Of View (NFOV) and Wide Field Of View (WFOV)) for day operation.

Its key features include: a patent pending laser illuminator operating in the near-infrared that matches perfectly the field of view, a unique range-gated Intensified Charge Couple Device (ICCD) camera incorporating a highly sensitive custom Gen III intensifier tube and an achromatic high magnification continuous zoom telescope. Besides, it is a Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) camera with intuitive user interface to control the camera remotely.

This Long Range Optical Camera enables its user (operator) to read the ship names with 50 cm high letters at 7 km in total darkness, capable to recognize an individual at up to 5 km and allow the rejection of false alarms due to animals or other objects. Night surveillance is also possible during degraded weather conditions such as rain, fog and snow. It supplies critical data in real time and its video stream can be recorded for further evidence or analysis.

Intrusion Detection Systems

Overview

One way to build the Infrastructure Security System is to have special sensors such as the perimeter detection system as the first layer of intrusion prevention measure. We offer the Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (PIDS) which uses the latest fiber-optic sensing technology and alarm processing unit. With the remote capabilities, the alarm processing units can be centrally located eliminating the need for communications and power in the field. Infrastructure costs are further reduced by installing electronics in a secure, central location up to 20 km away.

The fiber-optic sensor is a passive optical component, installed along the perimeter fence. Environmental conditions such as temperature, lightning, and corrosive liquids and gasses become irrelevant, making the system an ideal choice in these environments.

We can further integrate this PIDS system together with the Surveillance Camera (CCTV camera) and Laser Motion / Scan Detector to have full surveillance system along the perimeter fence or secured area such as military camp, national border, refinery plant etc.

PAGA Systems

Overview

The PAGA system is one of the crucial elements of any operating facility. The system must ensure personnel safety during any kinds of emergency situation and to also allow safe evacuation proven by intricate design. We at Saga Telecom design, build and supply systems which surpasses the safety threshold for a holistic PAGA system that protect human lives.

Alarm tones, pre-recorded messages, emergency voice messages and routine voice messages to all or selected areas of the facility by use of loudspeakers are part of this system. In areas with a high ambient noise level, flashing light beacons complement voice messages and audible alarms.

Alarms are operated manually from any one of the dedicated access panels or automatically from the Fire and Gas Detection System or Emergency Shutdown System. The system also enables voice message recordings from microphones at dedicated access panels or from telephones from the facility.
